Looking for a very good transmission mount for a 1992 L-SL.
Thanks.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

A new 98 Legacy auto mount will work with the one stud cut/ground off...pretty cheap on eBay/RockAuto.

Is that true? It will work just as well?
That is great info.
Thank you so much.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

If you have access to a grinder, just get one for a 98 legacy outback. They are the same, except the Legacy mount has one additional stud over the SVX.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

There are more '98 Legacy models and variants then I was expecting.
Just to be sure is the part number 41022AE121 ?
That is for a '98 legacy 2.5L AT 4WD.
The picture looks a little different then the SVX.
Just want to make sure it will fit.
Thanks.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

From RockAuto..1998 Legacy..the mount is the same for the 2.2 and 2.5 liter motors..look under "Transmission, auto", then "Mount". I have emailed my source for this SVX/Legacy swap info to confirm and will follow up as soon as he gets back to me.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

Are we talking about the rear AWD transmission mount. I recently had the transmission in my 95 rebuilt and it failed last week (still under warranty). The mechanic called today and said that the rear transmission mount had failed, allowing the transmission to wiggle and trans fluid to leak out. He said he couldn't find a replacement since the part has been "discontinued" and is listed as "obsolete". How could a required part be "obsolete"? I hope we are talking about the same part since I don't want to get rid of the car for a minor but essential part.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

Yes, the part I was looking for was a rear transmission mount for a 1992 LS-L, which is AWD

Re: WTB Transmission mount

There is only one transmission mount for the AWD on top of the trans subframe cradle unless you count the "dogbone" up top. The dogbone is still available while the 98 Legacy will do for the other with the one stud removal mentioned previously.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

Is the transmission mount 1 or 2 pieces? RalliTEK sells a insert using the OEM mount but it's only for the 1 piece mount. As for the 98 Legacy part, which stud is removed since there are 4 studs on the SVX mount and 4 studs on the Legacy mount but I assume one of the studs is in the wrong place?

Re: WTB Transmission mount

As a follow up.
My shop installed the above referenced Legacy mount and said it installed perfectly and no studs had to be ground off.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

I just replaced the rear AWD mount on my car over the weekend.

I used this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Transmission...-/261877403794

And I did have to cut off the stud that didn't form a straight diagonal line like the others do.

Re: WTB Transmission mount

The Subaru part I used was the one I referenced above for a '98 AWD Legacy.
part number 41022AE121.
Hope this helps.
