What makes you happy?

Tonight I set fire to a pile of boxes and logs that have been accumulating for months in the 8' in diameter burn pit.
It is 59°f outside, the sky is clear, and it makes me happy!
Lying in the grass, savoring a rum and milk, the black dog by my side, the white dog hiding in the camo bigasskillemall truck, life is good.
Sometime in the future, I will be laying in the grass beside a fire, but the circumstances will be much different.
I will have dogs there, but not for companionship, but as an early warning,
the fire is both for heat and to draw in the people who would do me harm to get what I have.
I hope that it does not come to this, but history shows that we will sucumb once again to the barbarism that is man.
God help us all.

Good for you for being prepared. Don't be like the rest of the planet with your eyes glued to a cell phone and your head up your a**. Myself I prefer being near or in the water, that makes me happy.

I like the simple life. Relaxing on the dock with a drink and a fishing rod and the dog lying beside me after a solid day's work on the deck/cottage/car/airplane and a swim. Far enough away from civilization that when it all goes to smash I can just escape up there and be comfortable.

Tom, don't let anyone, by attitude or their actions, steal your happiness. Your dogs know this. The night, the fires, fishing, woods all keep me happy and if I waiver, young Diesel here will bring me back.
