SVX from Russia

Hi. I'm Dmitry from Russia. Sorry for my English. It is not so good. I know. I have not practice.

I had two Impreza and one Legacy earlier but I had a dream to buy the SVX for a long time. It is very very rare car in Russia. At last the dream has been carried out this summer. The SVX 94 106 k.miles in very good condition has been bought by me. It's US type Front Wheel Drive.

I make some changes of front side and a back at this moment. I have already made customs hood from fiberglass and a back bumper. Also I hope to introduce headlights from JDM Legacy GT BD5 soon. The front bumper expects your turn too. I hope to finish my project in a month.

Thanks. And Take care.

It's my SVX in first day.

Re: SVX from Russia

Kia ora, Greetings from way down under Dmitry,

This is a truly international site, which I am sure you will enjoy. You will Find us all very friendly and we will be practice for you with your English. There are others who have English as a second language and posting here must help you all I am sure.

I am a dummy with only one language, as are the majority of members. You are therefore to be looked up to as being rather special. You will be able to polish your english to match your very nice SVX.

Nga mihi nuhi (With best wishes), Trevor.

Re: SVX from Russia

Thanks guys. I think that SVX is a one of more beautiful cars from japan. I wanted to buy only SVX. It will the car for a day off because I have a BMW X3 for every day use.

I love my rims too. It is OZ Ultraleggera.

Хорошо!

I have only couple photos the first variant of a hood. It was early idea. Not so good. I will change it for a new headlights. The final variant will look differently. Sorry for quality. I shoot it by mobile phone.

Re: SVX from Russia

Welcome to the forums Dimitry. You have a nice car there.

Please do change that FG hood, it is ugly (frankly). Do not tend to make squared shapes especially with the grilles and I suggest you divide the grille and the hood.

Welcome to our SVX family. Your SVX is very beautiful. I hope that you have only good luck with it.

I also speak USA English as a second language, since I was born and raised in New York city (joke)!

Please note that you should drive the SVX at least once per week or the electronics will slowly drain the battery.

Good Luck.

Re: SVX from Russia

Nice Chinese characters on the hood. I can only read the bottom one. Means "fast". Other two... maybe the top one could be "light".?

The fiberglass hood reminded me of the early '90s Acura Legend coupe. Might work out if you refine details and design well. I still prefer the original front end though!

Welcome to the forum.

Re: SVX from Russia

Hello.....I understand that this hood looks ugly. Therefore the grille will be separated from a hood like a modern autodesign.

I sure that a final variant will be quite good. It seems to me that the original front looks is some old-fashioned. Besides my headlights were in very bad condition. I did not find to original headlights better than mine. Bad light. It is difficult to operate at night. I separated plastic and polished outside and inside however the result has turned out unsatisfactory.

I have made radical decision to change a headlight for absolutely others. The choice was between headlights from Cefiro A31, Silvia S13, JDM Integra DB6. But fine condition headlights from Legacy GT have been bought and it truly..... I think.

Re: SVX from Russia

I see what you mean now. I can start to visualize what it might look like. I thought the hood would be one big piece. What about the bumper?

Re: SVX from Russia

So. Headlights have been introduced in front side on these week end. I think it looks very nice. All original arms have been kept. Process has appeared a quite difficult than I hoped. But the all problems has been solved and now I can pass to manufacturing of a front bumper. Also there is a possibility to change a hood now.

I will add some pictures later
