Pirates WTF!!

WTF! "NATO does not have any detainment policy" These are criminals on the high seas and if I were a captian of a ship being hijacked by these a$$holes they would be shot and thrown overboard. If there is no law protecting me then there should be no law protecting them. NATO and the UN is a joke.

Remember, the Capitan of a ship IS the law. A ship is one of 2 things, either a floating extension of it's home port, or a country unto itself.

The down side to that is, the pirates look just like the innocent fishermen. Nothing like the blood of innocents to outrage the planet.

My best thoughts are, arm the ship crews. If pirates come aboard, kill them without mercy. After 3 or 4 groups of dead pirate bodies are deposited in ports, they'll understand that that's not the smartest way to make a living.

My favorite Somali pirate story involves a U.S. Navy destroyer, a .50 cal gun on a pirate boat, and a 5inch gun on the destroyer....now who do you THINK came out on top? I mean seriously, a .50cal would barely scratch the paint on a destroyer! I can see the sailors on the fantail now, sailing away from some kindling floating in the ocean!
