Re: My finished exterior mod

Rough ? Looks really real to me.

Thanks a million.

I always wondered about this.

Jeremy, you and IceBlade never said this but youre both probably thinking, "why didnt he photoshop his wing poject before he had the work done ?".

Answer: I dont know. I wish that I had. If I had, I may very, vry likely have ended up with Iceblades wing.

Its all history now but I do keep thinking about how I wasted a lot of money. Its hard to stop thinking about that especially with 12/31 being my last day working with no new job yet.

Oh well, now you learned something for next time.

I do it with wheels all the time.

I haven't gotten any yet but I'm looking long and hard for a set that i really like for fairly cheap.

I thought dark tint would look nice on an SVX also. Boy was I wrong.

Either stay with no tint or do a very light tint. Especially with the tan interior.

I'd do mine differently if I had the extra $$$, its hard to see out the back at night

Mine was just perfect but it's stripped from my front windows now 'cause I got pulled over.

May be true, but don't have it taken off right there. Also, it's only for REALLY dark tint. The tint he is using doesn't look too dark at all. Not dark enough to get a ticket around here anyway.

Re: My finished exterior mod

I didn't get a ticket, he wanted me to get it inspected. Just a way for the government to make money. I wasn't sure if the tint was legal or not - it was like this when I bought it - so I just took it off and got the inspection. I didn't feel like failing and having to re-take the inspection.

Oh good idea, on BOTH sides. I'm going through with my tint anyway and hope I don't get in trouble..

NJ does not allow any tint on forward windows at ALL. Unless you have a prescription that deems it needed

I found the laws for MD regarding tint.. If I tint to these specifications I won't be pulled over... Hopefully. Now if I'm driving through Jersey for any reason, will I get in trouble?

Wow, just read Jersey's laws.. It's a lot less restricive than MD other than the no reflective surface tint and front window tint...

MD tint laws:

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 35% of light in.

HOW REFLECTIVE CAN THE TINT BE IN MARYLAND?

Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.

Front Side Windows No reference to reflectivity in the current law.
Back Side Windows No reference to reflectivity in the current law.

OTHER MARYLAND RULES AND REGULATIONS

Restricted Colors The tint color(s) of RED AMBER YELLOW are not legal by state law.
Side Mirrors Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.
Certificate Requirements Manufacturers of film need to certify the film they sell in the state. Ask your dealer if they are using ceritified film.
Sticker Requirements The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on each tinted window.
Medical Exemption State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the specific terms of the exemption, consult your state law.

Re: My finished exterior mod

If your car is registered out of state, you will not get any trouble for tinted windows. In-state registration does not allow it

Re: My finished exterior mod

You know who's car had terrible tint? Nate the Hate's... I drove it to my house from Salem at night and taking sharp left-hand turns were wicked hard and u turns too. I would never tint an SVX the way he had his done with only the fixed glass having tint.
