I got a good laugh out of this.

I believe the top at redline is 156mph was the last number i heard. However, if you figure the final drive ratio is 3.54 on a stock trans, so you have 1836.15 rpm for the rear axel. then there's some more calcuations, and i'm already bored of the topic, but i figured this much, i'm sure someone can figure the OD of hte factory tire and give you a good number.

hmm

Its a pitty, I searched for it, but couldn;t find it....There was once a shot of the SVX w/ the needle completely buried in Germany. You can find references to it w/ a search, but the actual shot has been removed :/

I should have saved it.

There seems to be quite a bit of conjecture in this thread.

Top possible speed, 3.54 gearing, 194ish. Need a hell of a tailwind.
Likely top speed in perfect conditions, 160. There is a reason the speedo only goes to 160.
Fastest you are going to go, 150 at best, under very good conditions.
If your car is not in good working order don't even dream of acheiving those speeds, on or off the track.
The state of my car a few years ago was such that it could not exceed 125mph. The car is old, things break and need to be replaced.

(I don't know why it's tiny, I can't find the original either.)

There was a video of someone on youtube of someone in an svx at night with the needle buried. He's driving on the autobahn in germany I believe. I was unable to find it, though.

I did, however, find a 3:25 clip of that movie that featured an svx going off a bridge. The events that lead up to it are pretty neat, high speed chase.

I'm sure someone has the video location of hte autobahn saved, if it's still available.

Sweet action!

It looks like they actually broke TWO on purpose. There's one with stock wheels, and then one with aftermarket ones when the car is getting smashed and drives off the bridge.

I've seen this before, but only the end. Very nice!

Dont trust the stock speedo... ESPECIALLY at that speed.
I got my 4.44 car to touch 155 indicated... but it was on a downgrade.
I honestly think the deeper gears are better for top speed with the stock engine as it lets it use more power as it hits the aero wall.
