Yes he was...and I was suggesting he look at the situaton for what it was, not as a group of individuals hungry for power, but as moderators doing a job - that is, trying to deal with a couple of members acting like 3-year olds.

In other words, the situation is what it is, don't make it something it's not.

I always state exactly what I mean, clearly and precisely. Do not read between the line. I stated a fact, no more and no less.

Your suggested humour is not funny.

Using your authority/power in order to modify/distort and present my post in the form of a direct quote IN MY NAME, does you no credit. As you have taken a place of authority, one would expect acumen within the field of common ethics.

So that the point of reference is recorded and my statement is clear, I repeat my words:-

“Exactly. A group of individuals who desire power, have power.”

Here, we surely trust that desire is driven as a result of benevolence, but this need not be the case. In no way am I pointing a finger and am simply stating a fact which should be taken into account.

any way i wish i had more on topic conversation, but i needed to get this out

Anyone can change what a quote says. You don't have to be a Mod or Admin to have this perceived 'power'.

And with that, renders your point moot.

Yes you do, Trevor. And your reaction is somewhat puzzling. Situations escalate needlessly all the time, not just here, when people read into them things that aren't there.
You have no real basis to support what you are stating, in regards to the mods on this site. A generalized statement "A group of individuals who desire power, have power" may be generally true, or may not - depending on what specific individuals you are talking about.
If you simply wish to stoke the fires without real basis, it's your choice of course, but it reflects badly on you....and why in the world would you want to do that?

I don't believe it is a "power trip" by the moderators that are banning folks, but rather people that are dedicated enough to spend the time to keep up with what is going on on the network and address it to the best of their ability - and not singularly, but collectively. I, for one, am appreciative of their efforts. I may not agree in all instances, however, neither do I have the time or ability to do what they are doing. Asking the "entire network" if someone should be banned will simply not work. A small group (like the admin folks) is much more effective. And personally, a forum of this nature NEEDS a few admin folks to police the network. Otherwise we would have few people on the network - I certainly will not continue (no matter how beneficial the info may be) if threads are filled with swear words and/or nasty and combative "discussions".

Sorry for being so verbose .....
Harry
Well said, thank you.

While I think that 3 weeks might be a bit excessive, I understand that the Admins' job it to serve as the "Adult supervision" for this wonderful "family" we're all a part of. Ben pushed the envelope a little hard and now gets a "time out"
