What I don't like about the SVX

Hey don't get me wrong I love this car, but one thing I think they really missed out on is the front end of the car. I realy don't like the headlight treatment and the front grill. If only they designed a nicer front end along the lines of the Z's pot lights. I am considering changing out the original grill to the Euro grill but I'm not sure it's really worth it in the end... Just my thoughts

the '97 grille and clear headlights make a world of difference.

i never liked the "waterfall grille", and i think it really makes the car look dated.

Agreed, the 97 grill, clear headlights, and clear corners make the car look 100% better. I'll be getting them soon enough, hopefully. Grill, then paintjob, then headlights.

I don't like being different THAT much. The windows are enough for me.

Yea that 97 does look 100 per cent better. What's the cost of converting to the clear headlights and grill. I imagine that's pretty big bucks just for cosmetics.

Motorsports Warehouse lists the clear headlights for $136; http://svx-motorsport-accessories.st.../crclhele.html

They also sell the "Euro grill", which is basically the 97 grill, for $190, which makes it a pricey peice of plastic. http://svx-motorsport-accessories.st...eurogrill.html By the way, you'll have to paint that.

actually that's not really that bad of a price considering the vast difference it makes to the car... Put that on my list...

Funny, cause I think the waterfall grill looks a trillion times better. I think the "void" that the 97 had looks rather tasteless. It annihilates all the continuity the old grill so gracefully captured.

Quick question though, if those are clear headlights, what do the normal ones look like? I have a 92 and my headlights look like the ones in the pics there.

What I don't like about the SVX:

1) Fake wood. Black plastic would have been fine; ANYthing but "woodgrain."

2) Flimsy, cheap-ass particle board spare tire cover. A car as nice as the SVX should have a sturdy, hinged lid.

I think the waterfall grille looks better on silver than teal.

I wonder what it would look like if you got the waterfall piece in the middle painted the same colour as the car? Get it sanded and painted. Might help to make the whole thing less noticable. If you don't like it you could always go to the euro style...???

clear:

stock:

and +1 on the plastic wood - ick. i'd rather have the all-grey dash on some of the "base model" SVX's than that wood crap.
