windshield electronic shielding?
I've noticed that several devices I use on the dash of my other cars (GPS, Sirius radio, etc.) just don't work very well sitting on the dash of the SVX. The Sirius reception goes nearly to zero, but when I hang the antenna out of the window, it comes in very clearly. Same with my Garmin GPS. Any ideas? Something wierd going on with the glass in the SVX that blocks radio signals?

Actually my garmin c330 GPS works fine without problems. It just takes like 1 minute or 2 to actually initialize communication with the sattellites.

I didn't find any postings about it - and the link above doesn't work. Why is it coated?

It stops the voices in the sky that tell me to kill
It also helps to keep the interior from fading and cracking

Its a titanium tint to the windshield, availible on the lsl / lsi models. It is more or less to keep the interior from fading, and to make it cost more than the car is worth.
If it is THAT bothersome, you can get the windshield from an L model and put it in. Most people just wire things creativly though. Ive seen a thread where someone had a remote radar dectector wired into the waterfall grill, ez-pass on the rear deck, and antennas out the wazoo

the EZ pass toll collection system website has the SVX as one of the cars that needs to have the electronic tag mounted on the outside of the car, This is because of the coating on the windsheild.
