Hi guys
Have been off the air for a few days and just saw this thread and no, I have not forgotten some people!! Very interesting reading - I knew that I should have bought that yellow one when I had the chance, however, there is no way that I would have sold it (then again, I said the same about my SVX but things happen) - assuming it was for sale, then it is now a sellers market and he could ask pretty much what he wanted depending on how keen he is to sell. Maybe I should bring one back from here?? Anyways, it is good to see that they are FINALLY getting the recognition that they deserve Cheers James

Where were you when we needed you.
I thought 'this is right up James alley' If any body knows where these cars are, its James, but,,,,,,,,,,,,where is he.
Yes it looks like they are starting to realise that the Aust model is a different car to the US model, with its emmission restrictions and transmission problems. Its taken a long time, and it has suffered from the flak with those problems tanting its reputation. I think the Euro model will become the icon, that the car should have been. Hope you and Cassie are well, and handling the cold. Harvey.

Hi
We are well and although cold at the moment, it will be nothing to the weather in St Petersburg and Moscow where we are heading for Christmas! Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr I plan to obtain a winter uniform of an Admiral in the Black Sea Fleet circa 1985 which should look good and keep me warm - not sure how the Russian's will appreciate it though! Still kicking myself over the yellow one though Hope all is well back home and have a great Christmas Cheers James

I know for a fact that there was one vehicle at the Sydney motor show that had a bunch of tube lights blow above it and showered the car with "phosphorous?", this damaged the paint apparently. As luck would have it, the vehicle was sold and the gentleman was later called and asked if he had any preference for colour, (because they were repainting it anyway), the guy said, (get this), Canary Yellow!! . I have worked on this car in Melbourne@City Subaru before it's closure. The car had needed two oxy sensors, (fault codes), and it had brought up knock sensor codes, (as a result?), and they owner gave me the full story. Apparently it was some collector in Sydney who bought the thing,, (for $85,000.00 Aus!!), kept it for three or four years, had it valued and decided it was not going to make any money. He sold to the owner I spoke to at length for $35,000.00 Aus with 18,000kms on it!!! VERY clean car..... I think his wife had one too!!!
Cheers Sixpack Edit; Come to think of it.....he looked a WHOLE LOT like McTaff!!! |
