Gosh, I'll bet that's gonna be more expensive than my repair!
Sure hope its "just" the Rabbit. Although catching fire in any car is NOT A GOOD THING!

Sorry Chris.

My bet is on the SVX, but I hope I'm wrong on this one. He was finally getting his SVX back since the accident, but it sounded like he was experiencing a few problems.

I would bet on the SVX also. My bro had his 12.9second Z catch on fire and get completely destroyed the other day as well. I hope that the rabbit died and not the SVX. LEt me know what you need and I will see what I can come up with

Yep.... it was the SVX .... Apparently there was a wire that was shorting out.... That wire arked to my clutch fluid and blew the top off and caught the fluid on fire.... I put out the fluid and there was no damage caused..... The problem that I am facing now is this: I can't seem to start the car.... Well, the problem is ALOT more complex than just that... But for the time being (and for simplicity) we'll just say that it won't start...

I am looking for anyone that has experience with the electrical system of an SVX.... I hate electrical problems and I am gonna need alot of help on this one since I just got done (3 days ago) paying $1,500 to get my car back.... SO I'm fully able to fix the problem... I just need some knowelage of what I should do.... Troubleshooting really sucks... But I have to get it done cause I am suppose to go see my Girlfriend in Columbia over Laborday weekend .... If there is anyone that can help answer my questions, please contact me!!!

Check your fusebox. Make sure the realys are not damaged and check to see if they are all functional. Also check to see if there are any bare wires laying around or a loose ground. Try getting a test light out and make sure you are getting power to the ignition and all other related places. Work backwards as to try and find the short

Chris,
Ditto what Tom and Jesse said! There are several of us out here with full shop manuals (that have the wiring diagrams), so try to post some digital pics of the "fire site". Given the location of the fire and the fact that the car won't start, I'm going to guess that the wire that was arcing and started the fire was going to the starter (since it is right next to your clutch reservior).
First step is to check all of the fuses/relays under the hood and those under the dash (make sure to check the fusible link!) - just like Tom suggested.
