Nuff said. Can't wait to see that thing in action.

Probably the most surprising aspect to me is the fact that it supports SD memory cards. It's very unlike Sony to support other companies' hardware. Oh well, good news I suppose.

What I'd like to see in the future is better compatability between platforms in respect to multiplayer gaming. I'd like to see people playing online together regardless if they are PC/Sony/MS/Nintendo/etc.

No news of an online service doesn't convince me that I'll need one. I have no doubt that I'll end up with both a PS3 and a 360, but MS's plans for Live sell me much more easily.

I think that's unlikely to happen soon. MS has had a hard enough time getting all of the publishers who make games for the XBox to agree to use its service (nevermind using it in a consistent fashion). Plus there are usually differences (subtle and not) between all the ports of the same game.

Edit: I forgot to mention the cross-platform Final Fantasy title. That's interesting, and I look forward to seeing how that pans out.

In my opinion, online is a very important part of console gaming's future and MS has a huge head start. I think there's certainly room for more services like Live right now, but I don't know how long that'll be true.

Nintendo's got a lot of history, that's for sure, but I've never been a huge fan. Some of the stuff they've done has been so brilliant and innovative that you can't help but love them. But then they've also made some really questionable choices.

I was really hoping that their press thing today would signal something new from Nintendo. Instead, they're just getting more and more weird. I think the best word I can use to describe them is senile.

But, again, that's just my opinion. I know a lot of people still love Nintendo and that's cool. Maybe I'm wrong and they're not steering themselves into oblivion. I'd hate to see it, even if I'm not a huge fan. Competition can only be good for the industry.

yeah im probably going to buy a ps2 or xbox 1 next year. i dont get enough me time as it is. i try to play games on my beast of a computer but i quickly get board and distracted with work. being able to rent a game and leave reality for few hours would be nice. computer games are just too expensive and HL2.5 isnt coming out for a while.

Its not that I am a Nintendo fan, like Mr. Pockets said I'm all for competition. And I hope Nintendo finds good niche in sales somewhere, also you shouldn't take those "Roger Squirrel and the Land of Robot Turtles" type games so jokingly, games such as Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando and Zelda have sold. Not to mention the Gamecube was the only console to have Resident Evil 4, which turned out to be a adventure/suspense and shooter game. Personally, though I have not gotten too much into adventure games, but that doesn't mean I don't respect the fact that there are people who have. So therefore Nintendo can always lean on those type of games, aside from their flagship titles as well. They also have a gyroscopic feature built into their controller which would be great for racing and flying titles.

That's speculation. Nintendo have not yet claimed as much as far as I know.

Finally! Nintendo makes a console that is backwards compatible. I think MS' biggest mistake with the Xbox 360 is that it is not backward compatible with the original Xbox games. Who would invest all that money to just toss it aside and start all over again? Obviously they have much more disposable income than I do.

The 360, as far as I know, will be backwards-compatible with every XBox game, but only if you buy the HDD. The 360 sans HDD will only be backwards-compatible with the games that don't require the HDD.

The only system I've ever gotten new was the SNES, and my mom surprised me with that one after mysteriously selling my NES.

Nintendo fan all the way. Why? Same reason I'm a Subaru fan. Good memories with some fantastic and innovative hardware is enough to get me through a hazy future be it gaming or driving.

My next system may actually be a PS2, unless PS3 is backwards compatible, and the only reason I want one is because I have Star Ocean 3 (awesome)collecting dust on my shelf.
I had 9 PSOne games before I got an actual Playstation.

Since Nintendo Revolution will be BackCompat I suspect I'll be going after some anticipated GC titles like Star Fox Assault before actually getting any NinRev games.

The wireless LANs imbedded into the next gen systems will be killer. I think 06 is going to be very interesting.
