Nick,

I'm glad to see you posted your timeslip on the scoobymile.com - we really need more SVXs on there!

I'm glad they found it. The guy kept calling my car a WRX and people were getting my number wrong.

Look at my 60' time. You think some slight wheel spin caused it to be so low or what? Considering the heat and bits of rubber on the track I thought the traction was actually very good.
I bet with a clean launch and a new filter that isn't clogged with oil paired with my sealing of the airbox from the engine bay I could break 15.5.
Other than that I have no idea how to make the thing faster aside from dropping weight, but I don't want to lose any luxury features.

Damn you ran 15.063 on the 4heat444? Crazy.

Nick,

How did you launch coming off the line? Did you hit the gas from idle, or did you power-block the car (i.e. launched from 1500 or 2000 rpms)?

I'm pretty sure you can break 15.5 on a 3.545 4EAT. Bwana went 15.37 on his '96 in 40* temps.

15.063 is ok. My car has a much faster time in her...

I did something different each time. On my first launch I just left it in drive and punched the gas when the light turned green.
On my fourth launched a brake-torqued it at around 2k and position 1 or 2. Pre-torquing seems to have no effect on my 60' time.

I think you can break 14s. I know my car is faster, too. I know for a fact some of my previous mods slowed her down, and I have to remedy this.

Nik,
The SVX can be competitive in AutoX - but definitely not with the stock springs and struts. Just going to urethane bushings on the front and rear sway bars will make a big difference, as will going to "stickier" tires (Falken makes some nice street legal tires that won't wear out anywhere as quickly as VictoRacers or Hoosiers). Next step would be the Koni inserts on all four corners and Mychailo's or Dayle's springs.

Anything that will keep my car from doing THIS THIS or THIS would be awesome.

No comments on the extreme squishiness of the suspension?

Nick,
Springs! The stock springs are extremely soft...check out Mychailo's web site or Dayle's. I can personally recommend Mychailo's -- they are extremely well balanced - front and back.
A close 2nd behind the springs are going to the Koni inserts in the stock strut housings. While the rear inserts can only be adjusted with the struts off the car , the fronts can be adjusted while installed on the car
Third - replace the sway bar bushings in the front and rear bar with urethane bushings. Energy Suspension sells bushings that are a direct bolt in for the rear bar. The front bar you'll have to do a little work on the off-the-shelf pieces. Do a search of the site to find specifics.
