Awd binding again

I have replaced the cluth pack 1 year ago because of binding. I have put about 10,000km on it.

Since last week, when my mechanic replaced o2 sensor, knock sensor and a clip for the muffler (maybe a coincidence) the binding is there again.

What can cause the clutch to die after 10,000km?

Thanks!

The duty solenoid C can/could cause that. It controls the pressure to the clutch pack.

Check your TPS adjustment, if its too high(over .5volts with the throttle closed) it can cause binding.

Theres a thread about dumping some LSD additive into the transmission. Apparently it has a 100 percent success rate at kerven subaru in PA.

No code and the selonoid C have been replaced a year ago with the clutch.

you don't mention it, but I tried my new (to me anyway) Imprezza 4.11 box with the dropping resistor disconnected - got the binding - reconnected the resistor and binding went away.

Can someone explain what exactly binding is?

On an all wheel drive car there is a division or split of power between the front and back wheels. As well as to the left and right sides of the car.
The TCU(transmission control unit) constantly adjusts the ratio from/of front to rear.
In NORMAL driving, smooth acceleration, strait and level roads, the power split is said to be 90 front/10 rear.
On wide open throttle (WOT), or on snow or ice, the TCU is said to evenaly split the power 50/50.
If the solenoid C sticks open, the car acts like a front wheel drive, and if it sticks shut, it acts like a "locked in four wheel drive.
If full pressure is given to the F/R clutch pack, the front and rear wheels have to turn at the same speed, not a problem going strait, but around a bend the arc of the front wheels is smaller than the arc of the rear wheels, causing a binding, or shudder.

ps; While driving around with a Subaru Select Moniter hooked up, most of the time the cars I have tested vary the ratios from 95% front in park, to 70-75%f "normal" driving, to an occasional 48%f on a snow power slide Tom

pps; On the front differential there is nothing to modulate the left to right power split, it is controlled by the traction at the wheels/tires. On the rear, if the car has an open differential, like the front, the same holds true.
If however the car has a limited slip rear (or front) differential, there is a friction device limiting the speed differance of the left and right wheels.
This helps both rear, and at least one front tire get engine power.

How does one acquire a select monitor and how many limbs might one have to sell in order to afford one?

It's a long story, , but if Mike, Longassname builds and sells them that would be way cool.

His would be an indash single din under radio install.
But if you make it to any of the meets that I go to, Reading, perhaps?
(it can scan only 92 SVXi) I'll have it with me.

Great! Now I just have to figure out how many drinks it'll take before you forget who's 92 SVX you left it connected to.

Have you done any tire rotation in btwn this 10,000km?

Are your tires wearing evenly? Is your alignment out? If not, try to rotate, see if that helps?

Or do you want to try the LSD additive solution?
