There already is one.

Hood

Dayle why not make a hood with a off set hood scoop/air box combo. It will look different and will actually help us too.

we've photochopped these on before.. they also look pretty bad... in my opinion.. offset scoops just don't look good. IMO

The scoop on the carbon fiber hood was made from an early model Legacy (I think), and like you said, it's hardly noticeable from the side. I think there is or was a fiberglass version also.

Id love to take a page from the WRC subaru's. *rally cars* Two scallops on the front of the hood that are ducted to the radiator fans, and one scoop that blows cold air directly onto our intake manifold. Keeps the engine nice and cool, while dropping intake temps. Also the lower pressure of the air flowing over the hood would affectivly suck the air past the radiator reducing the power needed by the electric fans.
Now if there was a hood like that, Id buy it in a heart beat.
If I can get ahold of a cheap stock svx hood, I had plans to fabricate this system to see how it would work out

Off Center?

While not crazy about mods for an already nice looking car, has anyone ever considered and off center scoop along the lines of the old SVO Mustang that would maybe line up with the air intake on the right side of the SVX. And make it really functional for cool air?

It may look like crap, but would like to see it made up in a photo.

One the Svo it fed air directly to the intercooler and sat
back further...
this scoop would have to be smaller and up a little ways.
Problem with both setups is those are not high pressure
areas. So chances of the scoop being all that functional would
be slim anyway. High pressure areas are on the very front edge of the hood and the rear cowl area at the base of the windshield to be most effective.

We have alot of different types of universal scoops
here if interested:
