SVX wrecked
Rear-ended last night on Meridian Street, downtown Indy by a Ford Ranger who wasn't paying attention. I'm doing ok, but is insurance going to total my car?? Posting pics...

it's a pity if it's just being totalled like that?
 hope you can work out something with the insurance or etc to fix your svx and get her back to the road.

Driving
It has a nasty pull to the left, and the noise/vibration is almost as bad as it was before I took it in for the recent bearing replacement. Not easily seen in the pictures I took are two ripples in the roof. I can't open the trunk, and I haven't tried to open the sunroof. The drivers door is very difficult to get closed right now too...

It doesn't look bad until you see the quarter panel.
Are you asking if we expect the insurance company to total it, or have they already told you they're going to total it? If the former, then I suspect that they will. I'm glad you're okay, though.

Insurance
I've filed the accident report with Indy PD and my insurance. As it was the other guy's fault, I still am awaiting a call from his claims person. Talking with a person at my ins though, she stated that as it is 10yr old, trunk is jammed shut, etc, that it might be declared a total loss.
It is "driveable" now, but I would not dare take it on an interstate. I limped it home, never breaking 45 mph.

With ripples in the roof like that they will total it, that looks like close to $10,000 repair bill.
BUY IT BACK!!! If you can turn a wrench then you can part it out and make sure all of the parts go to a good home(and make some good money to buy another SVX), if not then you can sell it to someone here who can do the same, at least that way the parts stay with SVX loving people. Good luck... BTW, my last VW was totalled with no more than a dent in the side just aft of the drivers door, I replaced it and got a $3000 cammera with the insurance money... Book value was $5500

Claims rep is going to come out and take a look, but my agent was not optimistic about repairing the damage. I asked about buying it back, but the agent said wait for the claims person to have their own look....
So, if it is totaled, anyone interested in a parts car?
