Thumbs up She's Mine! She's Mine! She's All Mine!!!

I've lusted after her for years. Admired her from near and far! Wished she could be mine!! But wait! What's happened? I open the garage this morning, to find this fine thoroughbread still awaits my command!! She hasn't vanished overnight like a dream. At last.............she's mine!!

I drove her home from San Diego yesterday, the lucky recipient of a "Family discount" from my Sis-in-Law, who was glad to keep the Rocket in the family. She was the second owner, and has owned the beauty since 1998, arriving with 43K-miles and doing the next 5 years tooling around first Santa Monica then San Diego. She, the SVX I mean, was first purchased in 94 and appears to be the 1063rd car off the line that year(93) if I decipher the vin correctly.

First poster, long-time admirer of the car and those folks lucky enough to have discovered the beauty of SVX. Please forgive me in advance for any stupid question I ask that's been answered over and over, but I've been lurking and reading for some time and will try to ask only when I can't find the answer elsewhere. I've driven Subaru cars since 1983 with my first GL Wagon with the white-spokes and cow-catcher, then 2 Legacy Wagons in 91(LS 5-spd) and 98(2.5 GT Wagon 5-spd) running strong at 122K after some new Head-Gaskets and other TLC. This appears to be a great board, with an active and approachable membership, and I look forward to spending some time with you!!

Damn, another SVX in Sacramento Banging head on wall (BangBangBang) OUCH...

Hey, I'm in Napa and I havn't seen an SVX on the road in a couple years, just in parking lots, then 2 weeks ago I'm east bound on 80 through Davis when I see a black '97 1/4 mile ahead... I stand on it to catch up 98mph to be exact... then last saturday I'm on 99 south when I come up on a liquid silver early model car turning off 4 cars ahead on the off ramp have fun with your rocket 3.3

BTW, I wasn't driving SVX either time, and we're not aproachable here... Lots of hatred and insults

Welcome Aboard, Glenn, and congratulations on your new 'mistress'. I like your 'Rocket' term... I'll have to remember that- it's a fitting SVX description.

There are no 'stupid' questions, only stupid answers.

I, too, have been driving Subaru's for quite a while (since '81- GL 4WD Wagon) and have been spoiled with all-we'll-drive here in our northland- you never want to go back to 'ordinary' 2-wheel drive again.

Have Fun.

-Mark

Welcome to the site, Glenn - and I hope your SVX turns out to be everything you dreamed and more.

I have a '93 as well, but it's currently stored for the winter. I miss it terribly. FYI, there were only 301 25th Anniversary cars built in 1993, and those seem to be the only SVXs sent to the US for the 1993 model year. I got this figure from Subaru of America themselves. All other SVXs sold in the US that year were leftover '92s.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!!! Hello! Ahoy! SEMPER FI!! And a special hello to Napa and to astralbody for the encouragement. Just did all the paperwork on title and insurance this afternoon, with a one stop shop at AAA, and she's REALLY MINE now!!! Costing $7 more a month than the Integra she's replacing!! Guess it's cuz they'd total her in a thrice due to low book value. Sucks to drive an unappreciated exotic! wait one!!! No it doesn't!! Just gotta drive like those other drivers out there are out to getcha!! I can appreciate those of you with more than one car, and the commitment it might on occasion require, but couldn't we create an SVX Preservation Society?? Guess that'd mean I wouldn't be able to drive her huh?? nUts!

Glenn
