Check this out!

This actually might be old news, I don't keep up on these boards like I used to. But I was just browsing for something in the pictures on subarusvx.com and found this in the "other" section.

It's a sketch of an SVX with the one-off bumper that Steve made. The one that only a couple pictures exist of. In the sketch it is labled "S4-II, prototype (the 30th Tokyo Motor Show)". Interesting.

Yep, interesting. I believe you'll find pix of Steve's bumper in Earl's locker (on the Laguna) and in Zepplin's locker.

I've seen pics of that car, and for some reason Steve's bumper doesn't... have the look. Have no idea what it is, but the original bumper had better styling... actually, it might be that one bodyline that steve's lacks.

I think it's just that the photos of Steve's bumper cover don't have the exaggerated perspective that those pencil drawings do. Another reason might be that those drawings are, after all, in pencil.

The creases on the top and bottom of the drawn bumper are a little more defined than the photos of Steve's bumper cover show. I've seen the covers in person, and I think they look very nice. They're not for me, but they definitely look good.

No, re read. I'm not referring to those drawings, I've seen pics of a REAL prototype SVX with that bumper, only NOT Steve's bumper. It was white. And it looked..eh.. slightly better.

Yeah, I've seen pics of Steve's bumper, in fact I've seen it in person on Earl's Laguna and I actually have one of Steve's bumpers unpainted in my shed waiting till my repaint. I was just saying I had never seen this sketch before that kinda indicates this was actually a somewhat "official" Subaru design, if only on a prototype. Before this, all we had were those two abiguous pictures of the white one that Steve used for the design. No one knew where those came from, like if it was an offical Subaru project or someone in Japan just did it themselves, etc. (well, at least I didn't ever hear info on it )

Thanks for the welcome back Nick! I've been pretty active in the Northwest forum setting up meets and stuff, but just haven't had the time to look around these other areas much. Miss all you guys though.

That bumper looks too much like the new SVT Cobra bumpers... I work next to a Ford dealer and I look at them all the time.... especially the bottom part with the fog lights...

The white SVX S4II prototype was shown at the 30th Tokyo Motor Show. It was a facelift for the then current JDM S4 model. However, not long after, Subaru ceased SVX production and the prototype was sold off to a Subaru employee.
