weird, I actually did think that picture was real, only cause I was usin a crappy laptop on 56k, where the pictures are automatically downsampled for speed.

we shall see on Monday... I have the phone number of the current owners of the car, they told me to call on monday and he will be able to be looking at the car while we speak, and hopefully take pictures... And how come the people on this board act so immature, its stupid

yeah! lighten up, Francis!

i made that picture in about two minutes as a joke - it wasn't meant to fool anyone. Rob, i'm glad you weren't deceived, especially by the two batteries, stock airbox, and a front of the engine that was in a sharper resolution than the rest of the engine bay.

The photo of the red/black combo IS an authentic photograph. I have it in my German SVX brochure.
That photo and others from the brochure can be seen in the "German glass headlights" folder in my locker.

Ill have to check the date on the brochure that it came from.

I too have the German brochure that you have, amongst others, and that same photograph appears in a number of them,

however

the difference is that in each photograph, be it the one with the black roof or the one with the red roof, the image is exactly the same...and I mean EXACTLY in that that the light reflections on the black and red roofed cars are identical.

The photographs are of the one car, however, I believe the black roof has been added afterwards since I have never seen another photograph of that car/colour combination in any other pose whereas there are a litany of photos of the bright red.

Can anyone from Germany/Europe confirm this?

Cheers

James

To be funny. When you hang out with us at a meet, it will all make sense.

HAHAHAHA.... you sure that's not EG33DETT? Or RB33DET P1 22B Type R Version VI?

You've been zapped by the curse of ricer terminology.

A 2.5 liter Subaru motor is an EJ25.

A 2.5 liter turbocharged Subaru motor is STILL an EJ25.

I, like most people here will believe it when I see it... And the reason why we are "immature" is because we all know eachother and joke around... Get to know us and we will joke around with you... You are the Newbee, so you get picked on forsaying things that we've heard for years...

HELLO!!!, Everyone knows there's not a turbo SVX from the factory..... WTLW

I remember seeing a picture on some other site that was documenting the history of the svx before it's release. They had a svx with a turbo badge on it. So it is possible that someone had one of those, but the grill is upside down, and there would only be one of two of them. It would also be pre-'91.

I bet that one has 4 wheels steering too!

Uh... no.

Any 'pre production' car is ... sadly.. destroyed. A select few somehow get sold to collectors, but in reality, they have no vins, and cannot be insured because the auto marques don't want to get sued. It's sad really. :| I have pics of an SRT4 about 1.5 years before they finally introduced it, and it was just kinda depressing knowing they'd destroy something like that.

I believe that some of those pre-production cars were actually full scale clay models that were painted and badged during the design process.
