Power Seatbelts Not Functioning
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with their power seatbelts not working? Mine always worked fine..well... the timing was always a little retarded but they still worked. Now...they aren't working at all... any suggestions on what may be wrong? Please let me know. Thanks, Meg |

Have you searched on this topic? I think there are a few threads available. I would crank the releaase buckle to the rear and fasten manually.

ummm
Megan, there are likely 2 different things it could be, the trigger switch could be going bad, just replaced one on a ford escort, so check that, also, it could just be a loose nut behind the wheel....hehe good luck

Megan,
First check the fuses. Did both belts stop working at the same time? Second, manually crank the belts into the rearward, locked position (the manual tells you how to do this). Third, pray that you don't need new seatbelt motor assemblys. They run about $400 each. If this is the case I would either find a good used set, or just operate the buckles manually using the emergency release button. Dave |
