Volumetric Efficiency

I am wondering if anyone has taken the time to measure and possibly even plot or chart the volumetric efficiency of the stock EG33? It will be very useful in designing an "ideal" turbo system. I am looking into possibly doing my thesis on a EG33TT, but it's not till next year, so I'm starting my research now to see how feasible it even is.

-18x8" Konig Hotswaps with Nexen Tires
-Polyurethene swaybar bushings
-iRotor Drilled/Slotted zinc plated rotors, ceramic disc pads, stainless steel braided blue covered brake lines, powder coated calipers.
Soon - Custom Headers, Cold Air Intake, and Custom Magnaflow Exhaust
*New addition*2000 Volkswagon Golf TDi
(don't worry, it's my new winter beater, gives me more money in my pocket(less gas) and I can park my car for longer periods of time giving me time to work on it and less damage to the SVX from winter driving)

I second that.

Thesis? might I ask what you are in school for?

I am also looking to get a bangin' EG33TwinTurbo, a pure monster, an eater of all.

Significant Technical Input
Re: Volumetric Efficiency

There's a ve plot in the fsm where they are talking about the iris valve. There is a plot of what it would be without the iris system and a plot of what it is with it.

Re: Volumetric Efficiency

The VE plot in the WSM, is using the engine as an air pump, not running.
It shows 98%. When it is running and the exhaust is working also, it reaches 110%.
If you are going to Turbo it, you will lose the exhaust action, so the 98% is what you would work on as the trapped percentage.

Harvey.

98$!?! That is amazingly efficient.
Compare to an LS1 with Ev in the mid 80s..

I am a mechanical engineer with a specialization in aerospace engineering, I am looking to go into the automotive industry, either performance/racing, or aftermarket.

Thanks for the input guys, sorry I didn't get back right aways, been super busy with exams and holiday stuff.
