SVX featured in "Short Lived Coupes article"

The SVX gets a mention in the intitial text too. Funny that they use the picture of the green SVX with the damaged bumper that kept popping up on Wikipedia.

I like all many of the cars on this list.

Re: SVX featured in "Short Lived Coupes article"

I wonder if there is as big of a community for each of the other cars as there is for the SVX? The Reatta is very cool. The prelude, I don't really think belongs on that list, 23 years isn't exactly short-lived, and they aren't exactly uncommon. Neat cars though, esp the 4ws ones. The RX8 wasn't short lived either, what, 9 years? It's more sad that it's not getting replaced than that it's out of production. Just saw a Fiero the other day, I thought it was a Firebird at first, and the guy walking by it with me asked me if it was an MR2. Not in great shape though.

I loved the Daytona\Laser. Especially the Shelby Daytona. That was the car I longed for in high school.

Angry Re: SVX featured in "Short Lived Coupes article"

Short lived???? Honda Prelude - 20+ years, Nissan Z series - 40 years & still around I hear. Ditto Mitsu Eclipse - 20+ years. Toyota Celica (not mentioned) - 35+ years. RX-8? Coupe-ish I suppose, but a couple of rag tops ain't coupes either. Short lived? Career of Mr. Taylor I presume.

Ron.

Re: SVX featured in "Short Lived Coupes article"

Where is the list of cars ? Back in the day any car with a bar was a Coupe you could have a Chevy 4 door coupe instead of a hard top .Mazdz RX8 was a RX7 etc. is still around , Same a Nissan 240 Z then the 260 Z then the 280Z same car. None were limited production either . I was at a car show and a guy had a 1968 Pontiac Catalina with a 4 speed . I said that is kinda rare . He says yes only 5,868 were ever made that way <LOL>

Question Re: SVX featured in "Short Lived Coupes article"

Back in the day any car with a bar was a Coupe you could have a Chevy 4 door coupe instead of a hard top .

Could you 'splain this a little better? Is an SVX with a Margarita in the cup holder considered a "bar" car?

Confused as always, Ron.

Re: SVX featured in "Short Lived Coupes article"

A roof pillar separating the front and rear windows is a coupe. They even made a 4 door hard top. there was the 3 window coupe and a 5 window etc. If it has a BAR it would be a PIMP mobile <LOL>
