I am surprised that I like it. Toyota has been missing out lately by not having any 2 door sports coupes.

Re: How about a RWD Impreza coupe for 2010?

Interesting. Though it says the upgraded turbo model will still come with AWD. I never thought that Subaru would sicken me with the Legacy platform and actually make an Impreza that looked really good.

Even though I'm a Soob Fool, I agree with Tom here.

While I actually like the look of it the guy who wrote the text and reckons it's "the most stylish Subaru ever!" is two kinds of a nutter:
  1. He has never seen an SVX.
  2. He probably thinks Arnold Swarzenegger is lithe and athletic looking.
Paper never refused ink. Where in his imagination did he come up with the notion that any BMW 3 Coupe customer would look twice at this muscle bound steroidal pumped up Astra Coupe Boy Toy??

This will appeal to baseball cap wearing, gum chewing, boom boom bass ICE playing twenty somethings who truly believe their car says volumes about their masculinity.

I really can't see it appealing to adults.

Joe

So, Subaru is going to drop making all AWD vehicles? There goes an ad campaign.

BTW, that picture is over a year old. I don't know if I buy it.

Never gonna happen in your lifetime.

Quoting the article:

For the entry-level machine (normally-aspirated 2.0-litre unit giving around 180bhp), the Impreza’s four-wheel-drive system will be dropped in favor of a more lightweight and less expensive rear-drive set-up. That will put the emphasis on maximum driving thrills.

But the more powerful car high-performance 2.5-litre turbo, delivering in the region of 300bhp) will send power to four tires to (AWD) harness all that punch.

Ditto. Picture is an old photoshop, and rumours of the RWD Sub-Yota coupe have been bouncing around the internet for several years now. I'll believe it when I see the concept rolled out at an auto show.

I think you missed my point. One of Subaru's biggest ads is that all their vehicles are AWD for safety. However, making a RWD car would violate that advertising campaign, so they'd have to drop it.

....unlike their old campaign from the 70's/80's..
"Subaru, Inexpensive...and built to stay that way"

I'd like to see THAT campaign come back into being the truth
