Murano Center Caps - SVX Logo Mod

Fellow SVXers,
I am trying to modify the center-caps for my Murano wheels so that SVX is displayed in place of the NISSAN logo.

I will be removing the original emblems with a dremel and apply SVX decals instead... I already took measurements, logos must be around 45mm in length.

Do you guys know of any reputable vendor that has cut custom decals for our cars?
Any ideas on how other SVXers riding on Muranos modded their centercaps?

Thank you in advance,

-Walter

Re: Murano Center Caps - SVX Logo Mod

I believe there are some companies out there that make custom decals...

However, I believe a cheaper way of going about it would be to use the Subaru logos instead. Cheaper, more popular and available.

IMO something like this would look really cool:

If you find one, let me know. I think the Alcyone emblem would look fantastic on these instead of the stars. The only other acceptable design would be just the SVX letters.

I just plan on filling the holes and leaving them blank and paint with the appropriate color for now.

I believe Dayle has them done. If I remember correctly you don't need a dremel to take off the nissan logo. I think I popped mine off with a screwdriver. I had them filled and repainted liquid silver. It doesn't match the rims but from far away you can't really tell its not a match (the liquid silver paint has metallic sparkles)

I beleive that SVXCESS (John Hoffman) had SVX logo center caps made. Contact him directly.

Re: Murano Center Caps - SVX Logo Mod

Hey Walter

I saved some terrific information on this posted by another member. Like that member I have used a dremmel tool on my STi centre caps and filled them. They just now need painting and the decals.

The other member got the decals from:
Billy : nascar_junkie1 through eBay. They looked great on the stock SVX centre caps this member did.

Even though I am in Australia I will probably contact Billy to make up the decal. The only remaining question is to clear coat them or not?

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Col

Re: Murano Center Caps - SVX Logo Mod

Thanks for the input guys.

Sov13t: Subie emblem looks sweet, but I think a cleanly applied SVX logo might be very nice too.
Lee: the Alcyone logo would rock, but I can't afford the Alcyone emblems, so it'll have to be SVX for now...
Tim: your car looks c-l-e-a-n. Tip of the hat to you, Sir.
Larry: Thanks for the info, I'll continue working on my caps, but I'll also bring this thread to his attention in case he wants to share some tips...
Col: I just emailed nascar_junkie1, let's see what he says, thanks for the heads up! I too was debating whether or not to clear-coat the caps, I am afraid they might be too shiny compared to the wheels. I'll take pics when I finish mine and post here.

Regards,

-Walter

EDIT: I just found this in SVXCESS' locker, do you know if he has worked on Murano center-caps as well? That's definitely the logo, perhaps we could order a 40-45mm version from his supplier.

Those center caps should pop right off, I know they did on YourConfused's SVX.

Nascar Junkie does sell some nice graphics, I have ordered from him several times.

Re: Murano Center Caps - SVX Logo Mod

Hello Marisa, still awaiting for NascarJunkie's reply.

As far as popping off, the caps are already out of the wheels, I meant using the dremel to get the Nissan emblems out, which I already did - surprisingly without any damage.

Thank you,

-Walter
