SVX Model Year Decision

If you had to choose between an 95 SVX Ls with lower miles (70k) or a 97 SVX Lsi with higher miles (140k), with the 95 being cheaper by ~2k.

Is there anythings that makes one stand out over the other if both are in foor mechanical condition?

Sam

IMHO you'd be getting a much better deal with the 95.

The only thing I know of that makes the 97 unique is that it's very rare.
Only 640 were produced. So, if you get it TAKE extra good care of it!

Re: SVX Model Year Decision

If you plan on keeping the car actually go with the 95. You can get classic plates for it in 2 years and if you don't drive it too often by the time it finally becomes a collector(which it undoubtedly will in another 8 years for the 95 I think) I believe its value will skyrocket.

I would take body into account though, if the 97 has an excellent body and above average interior its not a bad choice at all. Especially if you're just collecting one.

Re: SVX Model Year Decision

Is the 95 AWD or FWD? I would find that, along with general condition, to be one of the main determinating factors.

140k vs 70k miles seems like a no brainer. Get the 70k mile car.

Re: SVX Model Year Decision

I meant to say "good" not "foor". Bad typing.

Thanks for the feedback. The 95 was posted recently in the For Sale area as a NY car from Ithaca. It has a little rust, and the seats have seen better days, other than that it looks solid and has a good history.

The 97 is some dealer here that picked one up somewhere in PA. If anyone is interested in it I beleive he is asking 6500 or so.
