Angry Hit 'n run

So I wake up at 5am this morning and head out to my car in the parking lot, and someone apparently pulled out too sharply some time in the middle of the night and ran up against the back left corner of my bumper. They didn't bother leaving any information either (figures). The only thing they left me with was a dimpled / creased bumper corner and a nice white streak from their paint job.

I reported it to base police, but they couldn't do anything for me since it's most likely less than $500 dollars worth of damage, and there's no way of proving who did it. Worst part of it was I had just cleaned the car the night before and I opted not to park in the best spot in the parking lot since I didn't want the near-by tree to dust me with pollen. Serves me right for being vain, I guess.

Anyone know of any good and reputable bodywork shops in the Jacksonville, NC area, or would I be luckier going through the Subaru dealership in town?

You'd be surprised how much body work costs. I bet that work will cost at least 500 if not more.

I had a similar claim (on an AF base mind you) and after talking to base legal they had me file a claim with my insurance... My insurance handled the claim, and the base gave me my deductible back...

I would suggest looking into it.

I was thinking about trying through my insurance, but I've only got absolute basic coverage through USAA, so I'm not sure if I'd get anything for it. I'll probably look into it though, just to find out. E3 pay isn't exactly geared for luxurious living

Funny, cause I was an E-3 when my SVX got keyed on base... at least I got money out of it...

I'm pretty sure if you search for threads started by me you'll find it... It must have been sonetime in March 2004 that I posted it... I posted pictures and the total to get it repaired ($996)!!!...
