Weird thoughts! Delete this thread. Will check into this to confirm.

Kevin,
Why not just install an AF gage and be certain?
-Bill
p.s. install it on the passenger's side O2 sensor. As I understand the EG33's fuel rails, cylinder 5 will run lean first, as it it the last cylinder in the fuel path.

Speaking of insanity, I was surprised at how solid your XT6 looks. I guess we will see for certain once it is on the lift.

I think the sway bar bushings may need changing but the ride seems ok. The engine seems to have ran great and it responded well to mods. Once done, need to get a radio in, the body painted and a new windshield (letting rain water in). That musty old-water smell has got to go. Test it against an SVX there and let me know if it can hang or if it gets beaten badly.

I just want to see how it runs alongside an SVX after this current modification. I am hoping it can beat a stock to mildly modified AWD autotranny SVX in the 1/4 (not all out top end). It has already ran a best of 16.4. Not to shabby for being 90hp less than an SVX.

Yeah Tom! It was that camera phone pic I sent you of the Porsche GT3 that was in front of me. The showoff ripped it up leaving the gas station.

while I wouldn't say its a good idea to tune by ear, atleast on turbocharged cars its possible to troubleshoot by ear.

9:1 is super "watery" almost drowned sounding and will often start having rich missfire issues.
10:1 is merly watery

14.7:1 is very thin, highpitched with minimal power
13:1 is high and thin compared to the desired 11.5:1 many people tune turbocharged cars to.

In the post I deleted I described a a rich (10.0 - 11.0) as a 'muffled, metaliic-like sound in a tunnel. Lean I described metallic-like sound that is not muffled or contained. I didn't want to sound like an idiot...but there it is. Richer muffles the sound and seems to make the car drive smoother. Leaner is more chaotic and feel/sounds like something is about to go wrong. Best I can describe it.

I can tell rich/lean conditions better with an EGT gauge than an actual rich/lean air/fuel ratio gauge. You may actually want to run leaner with higher octane or richer with lower octane, depending on what works for your ride.
