Damn...acceleration problem happened today..

Hey guys..

this problem started today.

- It only happens when on drive, not park, not neutral nor reverse

-It makes a "TACK" sound when pressing on the gas pedal and the tack sound repeats faster as I go faster. It will stop if I let the gas pedal release, but will sound very subtle when I'm almost stopping.

It does seem to be there even when I turn

I tried to open my hood, but as the car isn't moving, I can'T tell where it comes from, imo it could be coming from under the car in front but I'm not 100% sure..

It seems to be shifting as usual though.

Do you guys think it's a costy repair ?

thanks

Simon

flexplate....

put the front of the car up on sturdy jackstands and get directly under where the trans mounts to the engine. Have someone rev the car up and listen closely. If the "tack" sound is coming from directly above you, you've got a flexplate issue. If you're lucky, it's only loose and you'll just have to tighten the bolts that hold the TQ to the flexplate. If you're not so lucky, the flexplate is actually cracked and you'll have to pull the trans to replace it.
