Bad gas milage

another question it has been braught to my attention that 16mpg is not good for my svx awd, andy ideas ive changed the air filter, fuel filter? plugs?

car runs like a top not sure hwat to do!

cars101 spec page has (for a 92 anyhow) Fuel economy: 17 city, 25 highway. 16 is normal. Better than I get, that's for sure.

92-97, the engine in the SVX stayed exactly the same so MPG would be very very similar.

If you're really that concerned about it, replacing the knock sensor and O2 sensor may help you out a bit. It also helps to not drive it like you stole it.

heeh well i kinda do my transmision has been replaced 3 times the last time i meet a guy here in iowa that is reaaaaaaaallllllly good he knows his svx trannys we beefed it up havnt been able to break it yet fingers crossed been 4 years now, when do you guys/gals think the fuel filter needs replaced? its the easiest fuel filter ive EVER seen to change cept for my lawn tractor and wehre are the knock sensors and are they hard to change? done the pcv the other day that was way easier than i thaught it would be

  • What is the average temperature and altitude
  • What grade fuel are you using
  • Was this a sudden change in MPG
  • What MPG were you getting before

50/50 split highway and city not romping on it i like to go quick but not ever over about 3 grand on the tach, im above the sea in iowa and mabie i do how would i check if i have a chip in it?

it might have a red wire coming out of it if they decided to use the optional setting. if they didnt you would have to take the ecm down and take the 4 screws out and look in it.

this is over the drivers feet correct, this is where i found the tach wire for my remote start install

yea theres 2 modules together a brass looking color one and a flat silver one, ecm and tcm. qty3 10 mm bolts hold them on.. the ecm is the silver one
