Question 3 Pedal SVX

This is sort of a Wanted or For Sale/ Tech Q&A mixed post...

My tranny is going. I REFUSE to replace it again, with anything other than a 5 speed of course!!

Only I have a couple of problems here.

1. I dont have the tools, or the know how to do this project. I am however mechanically inclined, as I fixed aircraft for 8 years in the Air Force. Is there anyone who does have the above that is relatively nearby (no more than say, 3 hours drive?) that has the ability to help me?

2. I cannot afford to pay what is needed to up front for parts. Is there anyone around willing to setup some sort of payment plan to help me through this, that has parts available, or ideas on another option?

On a side note, I do have family in the Greenville/Spartanburg area of North/South Carolina, and I am planning a trip there over Turkey Day. I just dont know if she would make the 9 hour trip.

P.S. This is my daily driver too...

Well, I have already lost one transmission. The first was rather abrupt. This one is sneaking up. When I take tight turns (45 degrees or more at low speeds in forward or reverse), the car makes and audible rumble, on acceleration, there is a slight hesitation, and NO its not the resistor. It thuds into gear and moves along. The audible rumble is accompanied by an empty power steering pump like whine (yes I checked the fluids in the PS reservoir). And its now begining to do the little audible shudder/PS whine when I let off the gas and then accelerate at speed.
