AWD question...

Its been slick out recently and i can feel the front wheels slip a good amount before the rear ones kick in (maybe a "one mississippi two"). I remember the rears kicking in more instantaneously last year during winter. How long should it take for power to be transferred to the rear wheels? Is my transfer clutch going bad ya think? Should i take my car out back and shoot it? Should i shoot myself too while i'm at it?

Alex I have not driven a US model, the RHD model has a different AWD section, but I would reckon that you should not feel the rear wheels take up the drive.

It would appear that the transfer clutch is having problems, more than likely the C solenoid is the problem. Can be fixed with the transmission in place. Not too expensive. But I would get it fixed, as to have the front wheels spin can cause shock loading in the front diff. It can break because of it.

Harvey.
