Smile Getting close!

In more ways than one! Of course we are getting close to the big meet, but also, our sign up list is getting close to our all time Northwest meet attendance record! We've got 11 seperate SVXes signed up on the list, and I believe our record stands at 12 or 13. That may have been the time two of the SVXes weren't there at the same time too, so that would mean 12 at one time was the most.

Anyway, let's just get at least 15 here next weekend and just blow that number away so we don't have to worry about it anymore!

Remember, try to keep the list updated if you've found out you can't attend, have more or less guests, change your dinner status, etc. It's exciting to see the list grow, but we'd rather see a smaller list of people that are actually coming rather than a big list and then we wait around half the day for someone to show up that never intended to. Thanks!

Also remember to keep checking back at the meet page at www.nwsvx.com for the schedule and details. We're serious when we say contact us if you have questions or need help with accomodations, etc.

Lifted from the web site...

All the meet information is on the official web site www.nwsvx.com under the Fall Colors Tour section.

There's a full write up there and a complete itinerary, but here is some of the more important info from there for quick reference:

Important Information

Starting location: Java Inn 1120 First Street, Snohomish, WA
Parking is angle-in on both sides of the street - try to park on the south side (the river side opposite side of the street from the Java Inn) facing east as this is the direction we will be leaving from.

Tour length: Approximately 100 miles. Six hours including breaks.

10:00-11:00am Meet at the Java Inn in Downtown Snohomish. This will be a chance for everyone to meet, get charged up with coffee and/or a light breakfast, etc. If you have interest in browsing the antique shops or walking around this historic town, come earlier, towards the 10:00 side. If you are just ready to drive, you don't have to arrive until closer to the 11:00 hour. Tour leaves promptly at 11:00am.

<<<<<<<<<snip (go to site for complete info)>>>>>>>>

6:00 Dinner at the Cedars Cafe inside the Casino. Food, drinks, and great conversation. There will be a drawing for door prizes for those that completed the entire tour. After dinner the event officially ends. The casino is open 24 hours and offers gambling, slot machines, bars, and live entertainment. Lodging is nearby.
Click the icon to sign up via the Network Forums, or, if you are not a member of the forums, send an email to events@nwsvx.com with your name, how many in your party, and whether or not you will be staying for dinner.

What to bring: Your SVX, a full tank of gas (we will not be stopping for gas once the tour is underway), clothing for any weather (welcome to the Northwest!), snacks and beverages, cell phone and/or FRS radio(s) if you have them, cameras, and money for dinner (and anything else like shopping, snacks, drinks, gambling, etc). The only required fee is a $5.00 parking fee at the last park (Technically, there is no gate so you can park w/o paying, but at the risk of getting a fine. We will only be there an hour, so use your best judgement and what you feel comfortable with.).

Please note: There are no minors under the age of 21 allowed inside the casino where we will be having our group dinner.

OOOOOO......I'm so excited

For anyone who is interested, if you ever have to cross Mercer Island on I-90, take the first exit and head south on East/West Mercer Way (Going West its East Mercer Way and Going East its West Mercer Way-its the same road).

I grew up on the island (please no jokes...I've already heard them all). Any kid (or adult) wanting a fun drive would drive East Mercer Way at relatively high speeds. It has many switchbacks, superelevated curves and plenty of driveways. And also a 25mph speed limit.

I've taken many a car along East Mercer Way to see how fast I could go. Its alot of fun.

Hey, if you wanna see pics from the last fall colors tour, I'm trying out a new photodatabase (actually most of them are in my locker, but they are all organized here):

2002 Fall Colors Tour

I'm hoping someone plans on taking pics (and actually posting them) at the next meet.

Island jokes?
