I was very saddened yesterday with the announcement of the new Yankee Stadium. I spent many happy times at the original Yankee Staium as a boy.
I was kind of ambivalent when they renovated 'Da Stadium' iin 1974.
Now I am sad that they will demolish this one.
I hope that the ghost of Babe Ruth decides to move over to the new Stadium.

Yeah im saddened by it too. Ive had alot of memories in the current yankee stadium as well. I go to at least 5-10 games a season there. Even though im not a yankee fan its still awesome to go there. Shea stadium on the other hand is the boringest stadium in the entire world.

Yeah, he's the best $15M sub .250 hitter in baseball Shouldn't have even got to that. The Pirstes won the game when the runner to first was out by half a step, but in NY the Yankees always get the calls. Jeffrey Mier anyone? Robbed the O's of a win in the 96 ALCS.

I was at the Scranton-Columbus game last night and saw Howard's 24 game hit streak come to an end. Scranton won it in the bottom of the 9th. He was pitiful at first. I couldn't believe how clueless he looked at first base at the tripe a level. The "closer" for Columbus blows, I kept chanting bring him up!

It would be huge to bring him up....but for who since Jim is playing first. That huge homestand kept ed wade his job so he can screw up at the trading deadline and keep us out of the race. We have the worst luck i swear. I wish i was alive in the late 70's and early 80's when the phillies were the power house of the national league. We have a good bullpen and a deep one ( when people are pitching well)....we need to improve our bench...which is why we should bring up howard.

The problem with keeping him on the bench is he will not get enough at bats to get in a rythem, something he is definatley fond of. I watched him first hand, and the guy has DH written all over him. Trade him and some other players for a half decent starter from someone in the AL. It was nice to see Columbus lose. They came back to win in the bottom of the 9th, so thank you Scranton. And drop the Wilkkes-Barre. Scranton sounds better. They have a nice symbol but being the anal perfectionist about history that I am, the red barron flew a Fokker Tri-Plane, not a bi-plane as used by Scranton.

there is a huge trade in the makings......ryan howard, david bell, and someone else to the oakland A's for barry zito and eric chavez...peter gammons said its just about done and their just working out the other details...dunno how this is going to work out ...none of ed wades deals ever work for us. Just look at how great urbina is ....this team seriously just doesnt want to win.
