this is weird
i noticed that to open my driver's door i turn the key towards the front of the car but to open the passenger's door i have to turn the key to the back of the car.
Anyone else have opposite locks?

Re: this is weird
I thought most cars were like that because the same lock cylinder is used for both doors, just with a different arm on the back or the same arm flipped over.

Re: this is weird
Something truly weird is when removing lug nuts from one of my boss's cars, with the handle of the wrench pointing straight up, you always turn it towards the front of the car. One of my cars is the exact opposite, you always turn the wrench towards the rear of the car.

Re: this is weird
It would have to be a mix of regular and reverse thread for that to be true.
On a normal "righty tighty" thread, the wrench would move towards the rear on the passenger side and to the front on the drivers side to loosen from an upright position. |

Re: this is weird
Now yer gittin it boys! Purdy soon, Ima thinkin you might git to lace up shoes 'stead o those ther velcro ones.... You know something REALLY weird? When im facing the drivers side of the car, my right hand is closer to the back of the car. BUT! (this is where it gets kinda complicated) When im on the PASSENGER side of the car.... my LEFT is closer to the back of the car. Does anyone else have this issue?

Re: this is weird
Exactly, the driver's side of my '59 Rambler is reverse thread and the passenger's side of my boss's '51 Pontiac is reverse thread.
