Mike,

Your biggest lobe refers to radiussed followers. I assume the necessity due to the steep ramps, to prevent the edge from causing extreme wear.

Where do we send buckets to be radiussed? Does Web Cams provide that service, or is that something the rebuilders provide?

Thanks

There is no need to change the followers. All that will need to be changed are the valves, the inner valve springs, and the cams; we will included them all as a matching set.

Mike,

The notation on the followers is in your spec table, only for the most aggressive lobe. Do you know what I'm referring to?

I don't believe you posted your spec table in this thread, if no, may want to do so.

I know what you are talking about but now that we are much further along in the design process I can say nothing like that is necessary. I'll post the final exact specs soon.

Pistons and heads.

Will you be offering a commercially available cam, spring, headwork package? Might I suggest copper head gaskets and light porting too? I would be very interested in getting whatever you come up with, including lower compression pistons for noninterferance and FI. What compression ratio will you be going to? I live fairly close to you (Longwood, FL). Let me know. If you have any shops you would recommend for engine rebuilding I would be very interested too. I am considering steel or DI sleeving, closing the deck, cosworth rod and main bearings, oil squirters, and chromoly rods.

Let me know

Thanks

I'm ordering my pistons as soon as the new one from the dealer that I'm giving them as a sample comes in. If you're ready to order a set I can put that order in at the same time. The lead time is 6 weeks. They are $972

The pistons design is according to what will work best more than it is a particular compression ratio. I'm havng them make the pistons without the domes and with the valve reliefs deeper to match the cams and inter connected. Compression ratio will be somewhere around 8.5. I won't know the exact # until I am on the phone with them and we are finishing the design in their cad software. The piston design is geared for high levels of forced induction including features like gas porting, appropriate rings, and tool steel pins.

As for the cams, there is no particular head work required. Just the usual stuff you do when rebuilding an engine.

Count me in on this. I was going to have cams done at a local place here but I trust you with them more than this place.

Michael,
You might want to explain to the folks what you mean by "usual stuff"

The usual stuff done to repair wear and pitting, etc: resurface the valve seats, ream any guides that need it, replace any guides that need it, replace the valve seals.

I may be in for these sooner than later Mike. I am picking up a new pearly and will sell either that car after it is fixed or I will sell the teally. Either one will produce some revenue which will clear me for at very least the cams... I still have to split my old motor to see if I can still use the bottom end

Once I get the the masters for the cams made we should be able to get cams and valves with only a couple weeks wait. With the pistons we will always have a 6 week lead time. If you're looking to build an engine soon you may want to get the pistons first.

my engine runs... so I good with that... I am actually just hoping to get the parts before they become unavailable like so many SVX things in the past

Will the cam/valve/spring set up work with the stock pistons? There isnt anyway I would have the spare cash for the pistons, and the cam set-up. I figure once the manufacture of pistons has the specs I can order them at anytime, but the cams/spring/valve set availability my not last long.
