Dead alternator
So, I had this issue where when the car was running any lights that were on would noticeably pulsate no matter the engine rpm. It was clearly visible at idle, and running down the interstate. All the dash lights, headlights, parking and brake lights would pulsate. It had a charging voltage of 13.8v even at idle. Well today I noticed that the pulsating was gone. Broke out the multimeter to find that I had 10.3v in my system, and raising the rpms did nothing. No dash lights or anything to notify me that the alternator went out. Luckily I had harvested an alternator from a car in the junkyard and put it in. It works for now. I had planned on ordering a Maniac alternator this week anyways. I also have the wiring upgrade. <---- Is that why my dash would not have indicated a failed alternator?

Re: Dead alternator
Recently, I dealt with intermittent flashing dash lights. They would flash a good amount one day, and none the next....problem solved with a new (or remanufactured in my case) alternator.
+1 on Maniac
