Got my new struts today but
The struts that Jesse must've hit every pothole from Reading home with were replaced today. The bad thing is the drivers side doesn't seem to have 1/2 the strength as the pass side. It doesn't bounce when compressed but I can compress it very easily. How do I kill it (make it leak) so Subie will take this one back too? Replacing after 1250 miles on the last ones is starting to take up too much of my time.

Ben, I feel your pain! My "new" struts lasted about that long before they crapped out. I'm not sure you could make a hole that wasn't obvious...you might just try compressing the shaft and then rotate it multiple times and hope any imperfections on the shaft surface tear into the seal(s). -Bill

Just squirt some dirty brake fluid on it near the seal, roll it around in the dirt and take it back - it doesn't have to be gushing.

Dude, I swear I was easy on it! (Well except for a few passes, but that is where I really noticed the tight tranny ) I all ready feel bad enough about not having the time to do the wheel bearings for your generous offering.
