Hase anyone use case studs and what ones have you used?

Its case studs not head studs to put the 2 halves of the case together.

I don't know about the EG33 specifically, but common wisdom is that changing from head bolts to head studs is what really needs to be done (that and adding extra dowels between the case halves).

Aftermarket case bolts are a waste of money on Subaru engines, the OEM bolts never fail.

I'm having a block sleeved by Dan Benson (yes I'm back in the game after ten years). He required ARP case bolts so that tells me they are indicated for high horsepower applications. ARP does not have a kit specific to the SVX engine. You need to get kit number 260-5401 and buy additional bolts from ARP. Buy the kit from a retailer like Summit because ARP charges full retail. You will need four additional long main bolts and two of the smaller case bolts which ARP will sell individually. I pulled up the PDF from the install instructions for the 5401 kit and pointed out the bolts to ARP salesman over the phone. It was easy. Between Summit and ARP, you're looking at about 600 bucks.

Well if you have 5500 in just the crank rods and pistons and over 25,000 total in a supercharged 3.7 fed by 2 sts turbos you might want it to stay together

thats the info I was looking for was also told not to go studs but to use the arp bolts

The ARP bolts can be torqued twice as much holding the block in place better for bearing clearance tolerance to stay consistent after line boring.
