JJ I hope you didn't wire the starter through the gear box netrual switch. The reason is that the gearbox switch can not take the direct current for the stater and will bur out.

Thank you for the German diagram scan. That is very interesting to see.

From our research it would appear the German market SVXes were equipped with the ACT-4 gearbox.

See thread here:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...any#post485067

UK, Australia/NZ and Japanese SVXes were supplied with the VTD gearbox. These markets were all RHD. In this VTD type gearbox the speed sensor signals both come from inside the gearbox, but with the ACT-4 type one of the sensors [SS2 I think] is fed from the differential housing and is the Hall Effect type.

The reason I mention this is because I would expect your speed signal to the speedometer to be coming from the additional wire beside the dip stick for the differential of your auto, rather than in the wiring loom [cord] running up the left side of the gearbox, as it would for the VTD type.

I hope I am making this clear enough. Assuming I am correct about your gearbox type this may imply but not guarantee that whatever speed signal re-wiring the US owners have done for manual gearboxes will also work for your German gearbox.

By implication what the Australian guys have to do to keep their speedos working may be a little bit different, becuse I don't believe their speedo gets the Hall Effect signal.
