Strange electrical short due to alternator overvoltage, HELP!

Sorry to see you are in a spot of bother. What you describe is way beyond my experience, and certainly beyond my diagnostic capabilities. To the very best of my knowledge, NOBODY but nobody has a European workshop manual. If such an items exists it must exist in a vacuum, I've never heard of any member owning one. But if I'm wrong, chime in with the information and enlighten us all. I do have the Australian RHD manual, and it is possible the wiring is similar to the Euro model due to the gearboxes and other similarities, but it would not be a surprise if some small differences were there also. However, when I looked to try and help you, unfortunately I have loaned the electrical volume to another member to try and fix a clocks problem. If I can get a scan for you I will do so. Joe

A/C control unit??
Basically I have removed most units and relays in order to isolate the short.
Solved: 1. Wiper short fuse 6 (bad relay in unit) 2. ABS fuse 18 (disconnected unit, might take a look inside) I strongly belive its either a relay or within a control unit. I came to this conclusion as I corrected 3 shorts due to shorted relays, fan left and right head relays in engine comp, and one in the wiper control unit, ABS unit state unknown. Still have a short when turning to "on", the meter fuse goes bam! (no 15). However its not shorted without ignition turned on. With the dvm hooked in the fuse holder I can just give power for a short second, and also see the amperage through fuse 15. I hear a relay clicking within the center console, thinking it is the ac control unit. Any tips??? How do I get to it? I have to check it out, any help would be appreciated. Alex
