Thumbs up NY/NJ/DE/Eastern PA area mechanic

Our SVX Network member TomsSVX is a college student and an excellent SVX mechanic! He lives in Beach Haven, NJ, charges a rate of $40/hr and offers flat rates on some jobs (e.g. 5 spd swaps). Great guy who's work is even better!

I've used him to replace my timing belt and my front engine seals, as well as replace my front transmission diff and install performance camshafts!

To get in touch with Tom send him a private message.

Tom definitely is very honest and knowledgeable with what he's doing.

My tranny swap is delayed again because Tom found remnants of bearing shavings at the bottom of the transmission pan large enough to have a concern. Instead of just throwing it in he advised me that we probably should hold off on it until I switched the transmissions with another one (it was still under warranty since it was less than a month old).

Luckily he called me before I came to bring any random stuff I had (my wheel bearings, hub tamer, Mychailo springs, all the struts and suspension goodies) to work on in case there was time left over.

Since we didn't get to do the transmission swap, we lowered my car and he installed one of the two wheel bearings i needed installed.

Ironically after installing my new rear suspension components the car is actually higher than it originally was due to a saggy suspension.

Great work Tom I have the new tranny so we will try again ...

Stage 2v2 here we come (eventually haha)

Took Delivery of Tomstock Stage 3 v 2

Just took delivery of my new Tomstock Stage 3 v 2 SVX. Tom worked with me to identify components required, pointed out sources, and then did the install. Project included Group N motor mounts, adjustable fpr, Waldbro fuel pump, Delta cams, and WRX 5MT. Work was completed in a week for a very reasonable fee. Along the way, Tom identified a hairline crack in my radiator, then sourced and installed a new one, without missing a step. He even arranged to sell my discarded 4EAT, taking some of the sting out of the project. Work was very professionally done. Great service. If you want a 5MT and dont have either the personal or tool resources to take on the task, this is the way to go.

By the way, its a f**king beast.
