Smile Long Road Trip Starting 6/25

Well I am moving back to Seattle from Indianapolis starting this coming friday. I have planned my route and I should be taking this route: Indy to St Paul, MN then to Bismarrck, ND then to Helena, MT then Seattle, WA

Anyone near these locations?

Thanks, Mike

Trip and Miles Per Gallon?

Rob, I will be in your area soon.

Also, NW SVX group I will be in contact very soon.

Thanks all and wish me luck...since I have never taken this car that far before.

What miles per gallon should I expect?

Tough to say - it seems like we've seen a wide variety of numbers from different people.

Over the weekend I got about 28-29mpg. That was with three people in the car traveling at a cruise-maintained 73.5mph with as little interruption as possible.

The highest I've gotten is 31.4mpg. The secret is consistency. If you do a lot of accelerating and decelerating, you're going to hurt your efficiency.

Also, the higher the speed you push the more energy it takes.

Mr. Pockets is right about consistency. You could get anywhere from 23 to 30 on the highway. I would expect somewhere in the middle.

If your not in any rush, you should try to keep your speed locked in at 55 mph. That would give you the maximum fuel efficiency for highway cruising. Good luck, be safe, and don't get any speeding tickets!! I look forward to meeting you in Seattle!
