novel controls

My '68 Mustang's windshield washer was operated by a foot pedal above the floor-mounted dimmer switch. The pedal compressed a rubber bellows that squirted fluid onto the windshield; when depressed fully and held, the wipers would activate and run until the pedal was released. Pretty cool set up, especially useful in traffic on roads left sloppy from recent rain.

What I really miss is that foot-operated dimmer; much more sensible than any modern arrangement, in my view.

I just found the winter/summer switch last night after reading through the owner's manual. And I thought I had ALL the options. No armrest cupholder or passenger underseat tray. Ho hum.

If you think that is weird, try blowing air on your feet only! Let me know if you give up and I'll tell you the trick. (think of a button combo)

I believe auto+econ will only blow air on your feet.

I didn't believe an SVX cupholder existed till I saw a pic.
I also didn't realize that there's supposed to be a splash guard under the engine.

I think that if you're in auto and the lever that directs the air to the vents is stuck in heater position...

It is under the steering wheel. It shows it in the owners manual if you have one. You may have to get below the seat level to see it. It is very low to the bottom of the pannel.

Question

On the left hand side of the steering wheel, next to where the side mirror adjustment device is, what does that one black switch do? It looks like a capital 'P' with three light rays sticking out???

It's not my fog lamps or my high beams...

Chike - I believe that is the Parking Light Switch. It is there so you can turn on Parking Lights when the ignition switch is off - like your stuck on side of road or something.

I'd like to turn the tables on a different matter: does anyone on the forum use the "telescopic" (in-out motion) of the steering wheel? It seems like a useless tool because who would want to have the steering wheel in the maximum-forward position?

I'll be the first to admit that I've never used the Parking Light Switch (seems like another useless feature next to the telescopic steering wheel).
