She's so cute! Great looking paint in the picture. Did you have it repainted or just go to the Mike Davis school of automotive picture taking? I got everything on except the one clamp isn't clamping so its got a slow leak from one of the heater hoses. Need to pick one up tonight. The exhaust studs didn't go in real well and I think its kinda leaking from there so its a little loud but its hard to tell in a garage with the hood off and all. Engine isn't idling great but I've only had it on for about 30 seconds or so. Too much exhaust and there's collant and engine cleaning crap all over the pipes so there's fumes coming off that too. Need to finish up tonight and push it out into the alley so I can hose it down!

AWW, MAN! Now I want one! I saw one at the local volunteer fire department a couple of months ago. Might have to go down there and see if he wants to sell.

Thanks Bob!
I rolled it off I-70 in 92'...landed on its' feet in a snow bank. Broke the mirrors off, dented a corner of the roof, broke one T, and drivers door glass. Got pulled out before the cops came!

I decided to have it fixed and painted OEM (victory white?). I found the topper in 97 and had the same guy paint it to match the body.

The engine and tranny were rebuilt in 2000....wasn't running bad, just happen to be able to afford it at the time....

I keep it clean and waxed, but no garage ...(yet!)

Keep us posted on your project!

The wheels are Subaru wheels (13"). Subaru had 2 or 3 types of wheels that were options on early GL models. I found them stacked in a corner at a independent Suby shop, and gave them $50 for all four.

Randy,
There were not many turbo BRAT's! They are pretty rare! I think I have only seen one over the years.
Check it out, see if they want to sell! It would be a real "find"!

Turbo???

ME WANT. ME WANT. ME WANT. I was told once that once you go Brat you'll never go back! Only bad thing about the Turbos is that they came only with the auto. A very common theme for Subaru.

Yes the first Subaru turbos had "Turbo Traction" the extra power of a turbo with the added traction of a 4WD auto box first available on the 83' BRAT and wagon. What did the 1.8 make for power with the turbo?

In the XT Turbo the 1.8 made.....are you sitting down?......110HP Scary fast

Of course you can mod the blow off valve and get an easy extra 50hp....

Might be a week late but

Tonight the Brat took her first steps in nearly 3 months. The brakes just needed bled and it really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Last time I bled brakes was on a CB650 and I locked up the caliper. That was maybe 10 years ago and I refused to do it since. Went all of 2 miles to the car wash and to get gas. The poor girl was steaming though when I got back. Must have a coolant leak coming from the radiator but its to dark to tell for sure now. It looks like its in the center of the thing. Can that just be fixed or do I gotta buy a new one. I remember having one fixed on my first Subie but can't remember where it was.
