Fear Factory covered the 80's tune "cars" for the stupidest movie ever made - "Freddy got fingered" But that song just fits perfect on a twisty road.

Talking

I'll bet I could hit 160 mph if I play Leo Kottke loud enough!

Tunes to trek with...

My favorite bluegrass or just plain pickin' will always give me a lift when I'm feeling down. (Seldom Scene/Allison Krause/Nickle Creek/Doc Watson etc.).... For cruise control: The Ripingtons/Acoustic Alchemy....retro-rock blood-pumper: The Who/Hendrix....Feel-good: any oldies station playing stuff from the 50's and 60's...I try to name that tune in 3 notes... Don

So...so many ..

With our over 500 CD collection it's hard to narrow it down. My wife and I have a large and varied collection from Classical to near metal (Arrowsmith), from jazz(old and new) to new age (Lauri Anderson, Tomita), from environmental (Kitaro) to .... yes even country (Wayland Jennings; I have one REALLY old Willy Nelson CD where he must have been a teenager)

I find some I can listen to over an over. A favorite is "Read My Licks" Chet Atkins. Over and over and it never gets old...even though they are.

Then there's Genesis Three Sides Live. "Supper's Ready" (a 20+ minute song) and "In the Cage" can take me to places only possible in the imagination.

Oh and Cheryl Crow....oh la la!!! She is SO hot.

Anyway..I think I NEED an MP3 player. I've got about 10 of those copied from a friend. About 100 hours of music! There are two packed CD's with "Mob Tunes". I figured Larry would like those. Lots of 'ol blue eyes.

Currently in the player is the "I Am Sam" soundtrack. Beatles tunes redone. Most are pretty good. The gold collection of Queen is on deck, followed by Bonnie Rait. Go figure?

.. I just can't possibly settle on one.

Van Morrison (too many to list!)
John Lee Hooker (try the 15minute version of Boogie Chillen)
Rolling Stones (Midnight Rambler, Sympathy for the Devil)

jscorse....you wouldn't happen to have a copy of his version of "The Planets" would you? What a great album that was! It was pulled when there was a legal question from the estate of Gustav Holst; I don't know if it was ever reissued. Don

ooo, i got one of those. Freakin sweeet deck I got mine for $250 w/ a 3yr warantee...helps when your friends w/ people that get employee discounts. I give it 2 thumbs up! The AUX jacks come in handy, as soon as i get around to taking the 50 gig mp3 player out of the old car and into the tray under the passanger seat, they'll get some use.

Engineer 'geek' purist

I love to listen to that flat 6 hummm - haven't had any tunes on for years (with the exception of dates who don't "get it"). Maybe thats why I'm still single......
