Fuel line sender kit

Mechanic says mine is rusting and beginning to leak. Anyone have an extra one for a 94 or know where I can get them for a good price.
Thanks

Re: Fuel line sender kit

Ok just got a quote from my service station. They say the part, which I guess includes fuel pump etc is $700.00. Seems very high compared to what I am seeing after looking through the archives on this site.
Any comments or experience with this problem greatly appreciated....
Thanks

Try some of the parts providers here such as Subarugenuineparts.com, or the link in my signature to find a MUCH less expensive alternative. MOST reputable service stations will allow you to provide your own part, just wont warranty the install. Some places mark up parts 2X, which sounds like what they are trying to do here..... try someone else or get your own pump/sender to supply them. I dont think its that difficult to do anyways... maybe try it on your own if you have the tools.

Re: Fuel line sender kit

Hi SoCal: thanks for your response. I'm pretty confident the garage is not trying to rip me off. One of the owners is my neighbour and they have always provided very good and affordable service.
They are quoting me on a Subaru OEM part which is always expensive, but finding an SVX aftermarket unit might be impossible.
I'm really hoping someone here would have one from a scrapped SVX....

Nobody said they were trying to rip you off....... im saying im pretty sure you can find an OEM pump assy for less than $700........ If you are in with them there should be no problem letting you get your OWN part right?

http://www.subarugenuineparts.com lists the main sending unit assembly at $125.77...... sub assembly is priced at $25.10. Not sure which exactly you need but it beats $700.00 Also looked up the actual fuel pump on Rockauto.com and you can get that for a little as $47.00 plus shipping. Hope this helps!
