I took my drivers test in missouri.
Mid winter, in sleet, in a 74 pontiac grandville.
Convertable.
I had to put the top down due to the plastic rear window being too cloudy to see thru during the parallel parking segment.
Oh yea... my tester had the flu.
I think she passed me just to get back inside the building. :P

I hope don’t mind a lecture.

Getting your driver’s licence is one of the most liberating experiences that you’ll likely ever have. With the stroke of a pen the world is opened up to you. Suddenly you have the freedom of movement unlike you’ve ever experienced before.

However, with that freedom comes great responsibility. Every single time you get behind the wheel you take your life, and the lives of everyone else on the road, in your hands. With even a momentary laps of concentration or judgment, people can die or be permanently injured. I’ve trained myself to remember that before I turn the ignition key every time I get into the driver’s seat. It helps to keep me focused and ever mindful of the consequences that may arise if I drive irresponsibly. I don’t ever want someone else’s death or injury on my conscience and I know how easily it can happen.

I wish you many, many years of safe motoring.

I failed my first driver's test because I shifted to neutral when coming to stops, instead of downshifting, I guess. I took it again with an automatic.

Hmm...If it's anything like my test, it'll be so stupid simple...

Um..Use your blinkers. stop at the stop signs..Look both ways..

The only thing they got me on was they aske me to pull over. Apparently, legally, you must slow down in the lane to a near stop, THEN pull over. I just pulled over lke, you know, normal people do, and my instructor got all mad Then I had to reverse...It seems every year they change the law regarding wtf your supposed to do with your hands when you do this, so study accordingly

In Texas if you take any kind of Defensive Driving class you dont have to take the in-car test Just a nice little test on the computer (that has little to do with driving and alot about what happens if you get pulled over under the influence). We've deffinetly got some of the worst drivers around though......stupid people......

Excellent advice!

And yeah, in Oregon they won't ask you to do anything illegal (even says it in the driver's manual, along with some tips for test day.) They have the driver's handbooks in PDF format on the website, www.oregondmv.com and look for "manuals"

Took my second test today with my SVX. Had a different guy, was nicer. I parallel parked, hit the curb again but not as bad this time, the guy didn't say a thing. Pulled out and tried again and was too far. He let me try a THIRD time and I got it perfect. Goes to show you that everybodys different. He passed me So now I have my license and I'm a happy camper
