VRKSVX,

I am the original owner of SUBYDOO, a '97 SVX.
It was our first SVX. Now we have 3.
I have to build a six car garage (one empty bay w/lift) before I can get the other 3.

Earl,

I only want at total of 6 SVXes; one for each year of production.
I need a '93, '95, and a '96.

Veronica, why did you not want the leather? I can understand the spoiler, I prefer them without. But most people like leather.

Good luck in your quest for one for each year. Start buildin that garage, maybe you can catch Earl's 14. It's really special to be an original owner and we still love our car. Went home at lunch today, and it was sitting in the driveway. Sometimes I forget how beautiful it is.

Name is not Veronica. the v is for Victor (my hubby). Really like the suede, the leather is too hot in summer and too cold in winter. The suede has held up remarkably well for being 15 years old and 189,000 miles. Spoiler does spoil the look. Seems the spoiler/leather package also include sunroof which would probably only mean trouble. To each his own I guess.

Apologies on the name mistake. I must be mixing you up with another poster.

What you say makes a lot of sense. The suede is synthetic, and all the better for it. I like the smell and opulence of leather, but it has drawbacks as well. The black leather I have gets really hot when the sun shines in, bad news if you sit into it with shorts.

On top of that, it's too slippy. One girl in Australia had her car thumped from behind. The rear of the car folded up, and the severity of the hit caused her to slip underneath the seatbelt and injure her legs off the dash. Not a happy outcome.

My first SVX was JDM, and the interior was suede. The only misgiving I had was that they should have used real leather rather than faux leather for the surrounding trim on the seats. Because it was false, the surface wore off on the outer edge of the driver seat, the rest of the car looked like new. I much preferred the ecsaine because it was not hot to sit on, and it gripped you in the seat for quick cornering.

Joe

Wish I was on that list. Bought my '92 in May '93. It only had 6636 km (4147 miles) on it. It now has 138000 km (86,250 miles).

Really sorry we missed the last one at the "shore". We are both 70 years old and love our Pearlie. We will be at the next one if it is close.

Hi,
I purchased my 92 from a local Subaru dealer in Nov of 92. It was a demo with about 10,000 miles. 2 months later it was broadsided in an intersection and sustained damages of about $6,000. At around 30,000 miles the tranny went out. A year later the rebuilt tranny went out too. I don't think they fixed it properly the first time. At least it was all under warrantee. Now at over 160,000 miles it has been very dependable.
The body has suffered some bumps and bruises over the years. But currently it's in a local restoration shop. They are replacing both rear quarterpanels. By next summer she'll be better than new!

I think you might qualify for an "original" owner. Hard to believe it had 10,000 demo miles and no one bought it.
