I had the one from my parts car installed in my yellow one....my best advise is to hire a glass guy to do it, make sure he knows he needs to save the gasket....

When we pulled it we used a bicycle cable shifter cable and two blocks of wood. One of us on the inside, one on the outside and did the two man saw thing for two hours...
Getting the cable started was the hard part, I think we used a piece of sheet metal cut into a sharp wedge with a hole in it. Once poked through, the cable was threaded and pulled back through. You just need to watch your angle to make sure that you cut between the gasket and the body. Once you get the motion going, the cable gets hot and helps melt through the glue. So you don't want to stop too often, or you'll have to work hard to "reheat" the cable. If I remember correctly, we went through a few cables, because they break after so long. But yeah, if I had to do it again, I'd consider hiring someone...

and oh yeah the right front tire is a different size, does this fry the whole trannie or just the rwd clutch packs?
also could someone tell me where the fwd fuse is located, i need to drive it a mile or two and don't want to hurt the trannie any worse

The FWD fuse holder is in the fuse box by the battery. Install it, and move the odd wheel to the rear to be the safest...but if it's only a couple miles, it's probably already been driven on it a lot more than that, so if you're going to replace the tranny, I'd just drive it home that way.

Congrats and get yourself glass coverage. Costs me $12 a year for my SVX and NO I DON'T HAVE FULL COVERAGE ON IT! $12 vs $1000 is a big difference.

Huck I'd be finding a new insurance company then. That was liberty mutual through Subaru. I pay even less now that I switched to Donegal Mutual. Regardless a windshield should last about 10 years. $125 is just fine as it is cheaper than replacing it every 10 years (which FYI, they'll replace poor vision glass just as well so when it gets nicked up you replace it!)
Glass coverage in NJ. You're funny, you need to have car insurance first which I don't think anybody in NJ has to start with.

I only pay $128.00 Liability every 6 months for my SVX, which I think is a pretty good price....probably why adding comp on it adds so much on my policy

That's the ballpark I'd expect for ya but I would've thought you'd be even a little cheaper given your age, number of vehicles and record. Our total bill for 100k/300k, limited tort, 5k in extra medical, 2 vehicles with full coverage (one even a business policy), SVX with glass, XT with just liablity is $1300 a year. The truck and legacy alone are $930 of it! SVX comes in about $190 a year for me so long as I stay under the 5k miles for limited use Then you gotta consider locations too and I'd say were about even on that maybe a slight edge toward you.
