Well, I just got a very interesting bit of information from the insurance company today. In Maryland, if the vehicle is over 7 years old, there is no transfer of title involved at all when the vehicle is totalled and bought back. That means I keep the same title, no inspection, no nothing. I just fix it and drive it.

This is SWEEEEEEEEET. I can't wait to get started

That's great, Mike. Let me know when you're ready for me to bring my big pipe wrench, sledgehammer, & hedge clippers (for the wiring) over to help you out. Sounds like a two box weekend.

Ron.

We'll see. I need to think about it for a few days and get over the initial shock a bit before I make a decision...
Mike, I just happened to be checking in and saw this; I can't believe it. This sucks.

Hey Olu, good to hear from you.

Yeah, it sucks. But it will be fixed up in no time. And hopefully even better than before the accident. I have been deathly ill all week with some sort of cold/flu/plague thing, so I have not had a chance to get started yet. The car is in the driveway under a car cover, and hopefully I'll get all the broken parts pulled off next week. I'll definitely be working on it next weekend (the 22nd/23rd), so if you want to come turn some wrenches or just hang out, you are welcome. Ron, John, Harry, Tom, anyone else who's interested; if you are looking for a fun social activity that weekend, you can come over to my place and drink all my beer and play with busted SVX parts. Details to follow.

I would paint it charcoal gray... There's another svxer (I think he lives in the land down under) that has that as a stock color and it looks amazing

Update!!!!

Di and I bought Rufus's Pearlie this past Thursday, and made some progress!
There is more work to be done, but we are THRILLED to save another one!
Thanks Mike!

AND a big thanks to Jerry, aka subi-crosser who spent some time on it Saturday morning.
